FAITH PROMISE SPRINGS INTO ACTION

Each year we look forward to setting the Mission Calendar of events for the year and prepare ourselves to act upon the work God has called us to do. We trust that God will use our willing hearts and hands to reach out into the world to touch someone with His love, comfort, and hope.

We ask each of you to join with us in this year’s Mission work. Your Faith Promise donations are just part of your participation. We also need your prayers that our efforts are pleasing to God and for all of our mission team members as they serve in His Kingdom.

This Spring Faith Promise will send out $5,285 in support of local, national and international organizations who are doing God’s work in the world. The largest distribution of outgoing funds will go to the following budgeted items: Community Food Bank, Dr. Narendra Singh: Mission India, Dubois County Community Meals, Honduras: Project Manuelito, Mayan Families, Mission Guatemala Inc., Tanzania IOP, Tri-Cap, UMC Youth Home in Evansville, and Young Life.

Thank you so much for your faithfulness.

THANK YOU FROM THE PASTOR OF HENRYVILLE UMC TO THE PEOPLE OF THE INDIANA CONFERENCE

“Thank you for the generous way you blessed us either with time or donations and sometimes both. Because of the way you blessed us, we are going to be able to bless a lot of people. For instance, one thing we are doing is helping the local food pantry buy meat for at least 60 or more residents who will need food – thank you! May you and yours be richly blessed.”

– Pastor Wilma Sawyer Bone, of Henryville UMC

Faith Promise was able to send $1,000 because the people of Shiloh not only believe we are to “Love our Neighbors”, we act on that belief.

SEWING TO SERVE

We have completed 30 YES KIT bags and are now working on more bags to send to Guatemala.  We can always use an extra set of hands or two; no experience necessary! Please consider joining us the first Monday of every month in room 8 from 6-8 P.M.

PLEASE KEEP DR. SINGH AND HIS FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS

These are photos of Narendra’s wife, Pinky, and son, Nishant. They pray daily to be reunited as a family, free to live in peace.Your Faith Promise donations have made it possible for Shiloh to send $1,000 to India this spring to support Christian Ministry.

FOOD BANK REMINDER – FIRST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH!

Your continued support of this effort is greatly appreciated and urgently needed.  Please purchase an extra item, if you are able, the next time you shop for your family and bring it to church.

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?  PLEASE PLANT AN EXTRA ROW!

Most home gardeners enjoy sharing their garden bounty.  They even grow extra to share with friends and family, and often, they still have surplus produce that ends up in the compost pile.  With food prices rising, what better way to utilize your extra tomatoes, cucumbers and other produce than to share your garden abundance with fellow Shiloh friends and family?

Please plant an extra row this year.  During the harvest we invite you to drop off your excess produce for others in the congregation to enjoy.  Any leftover produce will be donated to the local Food Bank.

LOCAL OUTREACH- DISABLED AMERICAN VETS

Shiloh donated food, toiletries, and other items valued at over $100 to the local DAV chapter for distribution in their care baskets to local disabled veterans in need of assistance.  The DAV is still in need of van drivers. This volunteer position could be as frequent or infrequent as you have time for to drive disabled veterans to appointments, the store, etc. If you would be interested in this local mission outreach, please contact Diana Collins @ 634-9568 for further details.

FLOOD BUCKETS ARE URGENTLY NEEDED

A special plea has gone out from the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) for cleaning buckets. The recent tornadoes have used up hundreds of buckets. OUR help is needed to restock them to help storm victims.

Buckets and supply lists are available now!

It costs about $40 to fill a bucket.  Why not invite friends, family, or co-workers to share in this mission project.
